An essential recipe in French gastronomy, the sausage-lentil dish is one of the great classics of our culinary heritage.
Here is a recipe for lentils and sausage, express but delicious!
Ingredients for 4 persons :
- 350 g green lentils
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- 2 carrots
- 1 onion
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 clove
- 2 Morteau sausages
- 1 pinch of salt.

Express lentils and sausage
> Pour the lentils into a (fine) colander and rinse them under a stream of cold water.
> Peel the carrots and cut them into thin slices. Slice the onion.
In a casserole dish,
> Pour in the oil and brown the onion and carrot slices in it. Add the lentils and cover with water (3 to 4 times the volume of the lentils, it is often stated on the package "5 times the volume of the lentils" but this is too much if you prefer slightly al dente lentils).
> Add the bay leaf, cloves and sausages.
> Leave to cook for about 25 min. Add salt at the very end of cooking.
